Between Vicksburg and Natchez,
Mississippi you will find Grand Gulf Military Park located off
of US Highway 61, 7 miles north west of Port Gibson, Mississippi.
Go west on Grand Gulf Road (also 462), for 7 miles. The park is
located on the right. For day visitors, please park and come into
the museum to pay your admissions fees. Campers turn in the main
gate and turn right towards the campgrounds and then check in
the museum. Our office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
For campers coming in after hours, please contact the office during
office hours for instructions. The ranger or director is on the
grounds at all times.
Note - some of the internet
maps as well as GPS devices are directing our visitors the wrong
way on one-way streets. If you enter by way of Highway 61 to Grand
Gulf Road (the above directions) you will not have problems. There
is a back way to the park, however we advise campers not to bring
rigs this way because the road is narrow in places and not safe
for large vehicles or items on top of your rigs!
