Campground in the Fall

Above is the small pavilion in our lower
campground that is for campers only. A large covered picnic pavilion
is available for camping groups to rent. Stay in the campground
and enjoy the fun games, fellowship, and relax in this peaceful
park. Camping clubs may request the use of the small pavilion
when making club reservations.
Call 601-437-5911 for
information if your camping group needs to rent the large pavilion.
Shower facilities are
located close to the lower campground. In July 2005, construction
was completed on our new 15' X 30' bath house located in the
Upper Campground area. Volunteers and our staff did most of the
construction in order to keep within our $45,000 budget. Total
cost of the construction was only $19,173. Our thanks to Sons
of the Confederans camps that have volunteered their time and
supplies for this project. Also special thanks to Steven and
Bootsie Gibbens for their doantion of the items needed. Also,
campers volunteered their time to help in any way possible. This
project could not have been made possible without the dedication
of our volunteers and people donating items. Below is are pictures
of our new bathhouse. From left to right is the outside, the
inside of the women's seeing the shower curtain in the mirror
and the last one on the right is the men's.
The Laundry room has
air conditioning and heat with coin operated washing machines
and dryers for our campers only. The campers phone is also located
in this room. It is large enough that many of our camping groups
enjoy food, fun and fellowship.
You can call our office
at (601) 437-5911 for information.

Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts
enjoy camping and working on badges. Many work on community service
hours while at the park. Scouts have built an amphitheater in
our Boy Scout camping area, benches in the park, a walking trail,
and many come in to pick up limbs or clean up present hiking
trails. Many scout leaders remember the 14 mile hiking trail
once at the park. The hiking trail ended because part of it was
on private land and the other is now on nuclear plant property.
Hiking trails within the park are short, however they can be
combined to make for hikes from 2 miles up to 5 miles.
